BMO Capital Markets Further Strengthens Global Money Market Sales and Trading Capabilities in Chicago with Two New Hires

CHICAGO, December 7, 2010 – BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE, TSX: BMO), today announced the appointment of Brendan Shanahan and Mitch Yashiro as directors on the Chicago sales trading desk, reporting to Scott Graham, Head of BMO's U.S. Government Bond Trading.

Mr. Shanahan joins the U.S. Agency trading desk, responsible for trading government sponsored enterprises (GSE) debt. Mr. Yashiro joins the U.S. Treasury trading desk, responsible for trading the intermediate sector of the U.S. Treasury market.

Over the past year, BMO Capital Markets has significantly expanded its presence in the U.S. “We are extremely excited about the quality of talent we attract and the experience they bring. With the addition of Mr. Shanahan and Mr. Yashiro, we continue to build aggressively on a world-class global money market sales and trading business in the U.S. Mr. Yashiro will complement BMO's already strong Relative-Value approach to the markets,” said Scott Graham.
