BMO Bank of Montreal Announces Flood Relief Program for Customers In Manitoba

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - BMO Bank of Montreal today announced a financial flood relief program to assist customers affected by the flooding in Brandon and the surrounding area.

"We want to stand by our customers that are affected by damages caused by the severe flooding," said Richard Jaques, Vice President, Manitoba and Northwest Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. "Thousands of residents are facing losses and we hope our relief program will help alleviate some of the difficulties."

Last year, BMO Bank of Montreal launched a financial relief program to assist farm and rural customers adversely affected by the widespread flood damage. BMO also recently introduced a relief program for its customers who are victims of the history-making floods along the Richelieu River in Quebec.

The relief program for BMO clients includes:

  • Deferral of personal loan payments (various options);
  • Deferral of personal mortgage loan principal and interest payments for a period of two months;
  • Special accommodations for BMO Bank of Montreal commercial and farm customers affected by the flooding, which are being developed on a case-by-case basis.

BMO Bank of Montreal customers are invited to contact their local branch and to speak to a financial services manager about their particular financial needs in the aftermath of the flooding.
