TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 26, 2011) - A number of BMO's corporate leaders will spend a day in a wheelchair and ride the TTC's Wheel-Trans Service to raise awareness and funds for muscular dystrophy, a disorder which limits the mobility of more than 50,000 Canadians. Funds raised will go toward Muscular Dystrophy Canada's $500,000 target to benefit those living with neuromuscular disorders.

The event is part of Muscular Dystrophy Canada's annual Wheelchair Dare campaign in cities across the country, and will allow BMO leaders to experience what daily life is like in a wheelchair.

"Participating in this challenge will further understanding and awareness among BMO executives of the everyday challenges some of our customers and employees face." said Michel Chalifoux, Vice-President, BMO Financial Group. "It is our goal that this will enhance BMO's commitment to fostering an inclusive and barrier-free workplace."
