BMO Bank of Montreal has opened a new full-service banking branch in Burlington at 3027 Appleby Line, located at the intersection of Appleby Line and Dundas in Alton Village.

"Burlington boasts a diverse economy located in the heart of the Golden Horseshoe, with exposure to a wide range of industries including advanced manufacturing, information technology and finance," said Robert Kavcic, Economist, BMO Capital Markets. "The city's jobless rate was a relatively low 5.5 per cent in April, while average house prices were up 6.8 per cent year-over-year, to a record level."

Alton Village is a newly developed community in Burlington, with capacity for 3,000 houses and 8,000 residents. The branch is BMO's sixth in the Burlington area, and represents a $1.8 million investment into the community to support the growing needs of its local residents.

"With housing construction in Alton Village at an all-time high, we invite home buyers to visit our branch and learn how BMO can help them become mortgage free faster and save thousands of dollars in interest over time," said David Varghese, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. "For example, BMO offers a five-year fixed low-rate mortgage with a maximum 25-year amortization, which is currently offered at 4.14 per cent."

The new BMO branch provides a wide range of financial services and is designed to create a welcoming and comfortable banking experience. The open-concept branch is outfitted with the latest banking conveniences including Burlington's first BMO coin counting machine - available free of charge.

Customers can also expect:

  • Services provided in nine different languages: English, French, Cantonese, Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish, Serbian, Afrikaans, and Italian;
  • Access to commercial account and deposit services;
  • One interior Instabank automated banking machine (ABM) and one drive-thru;
  • Free coin counting machine;
  • Free parking for BMO customers; and
  • Barrier-free access.

"To celebrate the opening of our new branch, we are happy to offer the first 100 customers who invest $5,000 into a one to five year Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) a complimentary $100 towards their principal investment," added Mr. Varghese.

BMO's new Appleby Line and Dundas branch's hours of operation are:

  • 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday;
  • 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and
