The Blizzard Celtics '01 girls soccer team is celebrating its recent win as BMO Team of the Week and kicking off its contention for BMO Team of the Week 2011 Champion at the BMO Bank of Montreal Crowfoot branch.

"The Blizzard Celtic '01 is a great team to wrap up the 15 BMO Team of the Week finalists. This group of girls play with heart, and are passionate not only about the game of soccer but about giving back to the community where they play," said Mike Suzuki, District Vice-President, Calgary, BMO Bank of Montreal. "Whether it is participating in a walkathon for cancer research, or supporting veterans on Remembrance Day, they have shown both on and off the pitch that they are a deserving team and we look forward to celebrating this win with them."

BMO will provide the team with team track suits and a team party. The Bank will also donate $500 in the Blizzard Celtics' name to Special Olympics, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with an intellectual disability through sport.

BMO Team of the Week is Canada's premier grassroots sport celebration, engaging a nation and inspiring communities by recognizing youth soccer teams who demonstrate team pride, team spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. From April 1 until June 30, teams were nominated at BMOsoccer.com. Fifteen weekly winners have been named BMO Team of the Week and are now entered for a chance to be voted by Canadians as BMO Team of the Week 2011 Champion. Voting begins August 1 and will end on August 15. The grand prize includes a $125,000 refurbishment of the winning team's community soccer field and a road trip to a Toronto FC or Vancouver Whitecaps FC home game.
