Riders Compete in the Jump Canada Hunter Classic and BMO Grand Prix

STANHOPE, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND--(Marketwire - Aug. 6, 2011) - Polished boots, immaculately groomed mounts and freshly pressed hunter coats will be on display as some of Atlantic Canada's best horse and rider combinations compete at this evening's Jump Canada Hunter Classic. This prestigious competition will take place on the hunter ring; horses and riders will compete over a course of jumps, being judged on their horse's movement, manners and way of going. The event is part of the Gingerwood Charity Classic Horse Show.

Sunday afternoon the energy will shift from elegance and grace to speed and agility as horse and riders race against the clock to capture the BMO Grand Prix Title. Jumpers' courses are bold in colour and creativity, and tend to be more complex and technical than a hunter course. It requires the horse to have the courage and scope to jump large fences, as well as the athletic ability to turn sharp and fast.

Gingerwood Charity Horse Shows were established six years ago, with a vision to provide an exemplary equestrian venue and show experience for the most talented competitors and horses from across the region and an opportunity for families to enjoy a memorable and affordable day in the country. The proceeds from the Gingerwood shows will support the Oak Acres Children's Camp. www.gingerwoodfarm.com.
