      TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 13, 2011) - BMO Bank of Montreal today opened a new full-service banking branch in downtown Toronto at 591 Queen Street West.

      Located on the border of Toronto's famed Chinatown and Kensington neighbourhoods, the new branch will serve the growing needs of this diverse community. The Trinity-Spadina area has often been referred to as a microcosm of Toronto at-large, featuring a balance of residential neighbourhoods, commercial activity, historical roots and an emphasis on arts and innovation.

      "We are excited to be opening our doors to this vibrant community," said Gitta Jongedijk, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. "As the only financial institution open seven days a week in this area, we are looking forward to delivering a great customer experience and continuing to build upon the successes of this historic neighbourhood."

      The new, open-concept branch provides a wide range of financial services, and is outfitted with the latest banking conveniences including a complimentary coin counter, a simple to use kiosk that counts your loose change.

      Customers can also expect:

      • Services provided in three different languages: English, Cantonese and Portuguese;
      • Access to commercial accounts and night deposit services;
      • Two Instabank automated banking machines (ABMs); and
      • Barrier-free access.

      "I encourage members of the community to come in and speak with our team about their financial needs, including our commercial banking services," adds Gitta. "For instance, BMO SmartSteps for Business is a unique tool designed specifically for entrepreneurs and provides tools and advice to make their business banking more efficient and ultimately boost productivity."

      BMO's new Queen Street West branch hours of operation are:

      • 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Wednesday;
