BMO Bank of Montreal will be hosting an official celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Teeswater branch on Friday, August 26. Customers and members of the community are invited to come out and socialize with friends and neighbours while enjoying complimentary juice and desserts.

"We want to acknowledge and thank our customers for their long standing support. We are proud to have contributed to this wonderful community over the past century and are looking forward to delivering a great customer experience here in Teeswater for years to come," said Joanne Cassidy, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal.

Since its opening in 1911, the branch has served the community while playing an active role in developing the once small rural village into a successful, internationally renowned farming community. In fact, Mr. T.S. Reid, BMO's first Teeswater Branch manager, began this tradition, becoming heavily involved in the Agricultural Society, the Library Board and many other social activities in the village. Today, the branch employees are members of the horticulture society, annual sponsors of the Rural Fair, involved in local sports leagues and teaching kids the value of a dollar by offering branch tours for the public school.

To mark this momentous occasion, BMO's Teeswater branch will be donating $5,200 to the local fire department and is sponsoring this weekend's Farm Safety Fair.

"As a rural farming community, having up-to-date fire services and equipment is extremely important and we are honoured and privileged to be accepting this generous gift," said Terry Sillick, Fire Chief, Teeswater Fire Hall. "BMO's donation to our local fire department demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of the neighbourhoods and regions they serve, and will contribute to strengthening the service available to Teeswater and the surrounding area."
