OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 31, 2011) - BMO Bank of Montreal announced today the opening of a new full-service banking branch next to Oakville's Hopedale Mall at 1461 Rebecca Street.

The new open-concept branch offers customers extended banking hours and is designed to provide a great banking experience through a variety of financial services and conveniences, including:

  • A free coin counter – a simple-to-use kiosk which counts your loose change;
  • Services provided in 15 different languages;
  • Access to commercial account and deposit services;
  • Two ATMs; and
  • Barrier-free access.

"We are thrilled to be opening our doors in this well established community," said Melissa Ford, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. "The new branch's extended hours will make it easier for our customers and other members of the community to come in and speak with our team about their financial needs."

BMO's new branch will be located in the parking lot of the Hopedale Mall, a local, community-oriented shopping center that serves the residents of Southwest Oakville and beyond. The Hopedale neighbourhood is an older district of Oakville, a Greater Toronto Area town projected to grow by 23 per cent over the next five years.

"Oakville's economy continues to be supported by rapid residential development, not only of new homes in the northern part of town, but also rebuilding activity in its more mature southern neighbourhoods," said Robert Kavcic, Economist, BMO Capital Markets.

To celebrate the opening, BMO's Hopedale Mall branch and BMO SmartSteps for Parents are lending a hand to young customers wishing to open their first account by matching each child's first deposit of $25.

BMO's Hopedale Mall branch extended hours of operation are:

  • 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Wednesday;
  • 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday;
  • 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday; and
  • 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

BMO's new branch in Oakville is part of a green energy initiative. BMO Financial Group is committed to purchase emission free electricity from Bullfrog Power-generated from clean, renewable sources like wind power and low-impact hydro. BMO has significantly expanded its use of emissions-free power by purchasing electricity from Bullfrog Power in six provinces in Canada including Ontario.
