Save the Date/Interview Opportunity: Charitable Giving in Canada-Experts from BMO and United Way Host Panel

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 14, 2011) - With National Philanthropy Day on November 15th and the holiday season underway, giving is on the minds of many Canadians.

November and December mark an important time of year for charities. According to Statistics Canada, end-of-year giving accounts for approximately one-quarter of national not-for-profit contributions annually. Overall Canadian tax-filers claimed a total of $7.8 billion in charitable donations.

BMO Harris Private Banking will unveil the results a new study showing what Canadians plan to give financially in the coming year. Along with the release of the report, BMO will host a panel of experts from BMO and United Way to discuss charitable giving and provide advice on putting the right strategies in place to maximize donations.
