EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 9, 2011) - BMO Bank of Montreal invites customers and members of the community to celebrate the grand opening of its new full-service branch at 11331 -104th Avenue, in one of the oldest and most well-populated residential areas of Edmonton.

In order to meet the needs of its growing customer base, the new open-concept branch is designed to create a welcoming, comfortable financial services experience and is outfitted with the latest banking conveniences, including:

  • A free coin counter - a simple-to-use kiosk which counts your loose change;
  • Services provided in nine different languages;
  • Access to commercial account and deposit services;
  • Free customer parking;
  • Two ATMs; and
  • Barrier-free access.

"We are excited to be offering our customers a full suite of banking services in this growing and diverse community," said Patrick Dorey, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. "We encourage residents and local business owners to come in and speak with our team about their financial needs, including our commercial banking services."

"Alberta's economy is significantly outperforming the national average in 2011, as high oil prices are fuelling activity in the energy sector, which in turn is driving strong labour market performance," said Robert Kavcic, Economist, BMO Capital Markets. "Furthermore, private-sector employment was up a massive 8.8 per cent year over year in November, outpacing even the growth seen at the height of the pre-recession commodity boom."

Located west of the downtown core, the new branch represents an investment of $1.2 million into the community. Customers will have financial services provided by a team of professionals including financial planners, investment advisors, mortgage specialists and small business bankers.
