BMO Donates $25,000 to Red Cross Relief Efforts in New Brunswick and Announces Flood Relief Program

Following Flooding in Perth-Andover

FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwire - April 3, 2012) - BMO Financial Group today announced a $25,000 contribution to the Canadian Red Cross in support of relief efforts in Perth-Andover and neighbouring communities in New Brunswick affected by recent flooding. BMO also announced a flood relief program for its clients in the region.

"We want to assist our customers and residents of the communities that are being affected, and we hope that these initiatives will help alleviate some of the difficulties they face," said Pierre Gagné, Personal Banking Area Manager for Rural New Brunswick, BMO Bank of Montreal. Mr. Gagné noted that the ABM at the BMO Perth-Andover Branch has been operational since March 30th and that the branch will re-open on April 16.

The BMO Bank of Montreal Flood Relief Program includes:

  • Personal loan payments deferrals - various options.
  • Personal mortgages - deferral of the principal and interest payments for a period of two months.
  • Special accommodations for commercial clients affected by the flooding are being developed on a case-by-case basis.

"We've always stood behind our customers, through good times and challenging times, and we are ready to assist qualifying BMO personal and business customers by deferring payments on their loans, mortgages or lines of credit," added Lynn Murphy, Perth-Andover Branch Manager.

For assistance, BMO Bank of Montreal customers are invited to contact the BMO Customer Contact Centre at 1-800-363-9992 or other BMO branches in the region located in Grand Falls, Woodstock and Fredericton, and to visit the Perth-Andover branch when it re-opens on April 16.
