Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Ottawa Royals Futuro Celebrate BMO Team of the Week

- Team vying for 2012 BMO Team of the Week Champion, a title which includes a $125,000 prize towards a field refurbishment for their club and community

- Coaching staff, players, and family collecting 1,000 pairs of soccer cleats to send to children in India

- Futuro U-10 boys have selected the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa for the $500 donation from BMO

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 25, 2012) - The Ottawa Royals Futuro U-10 Boys are celebrating their recent win as BMO Team of the Week and kicking off their contention for BMO Team of the Week 2012 Champion title at the Bank of Montreal branch at 340 Albert St. in Ottawa on Friday, May 25.

"This is a remarkable group of young players led by a truly dedicated coaching staff." said Carolyn Booth, District Vice-President, Eastern Ontario, BMO Financial Group. "These boys have carried out some very notable efforts within the community. For example, the team is currently collecting 1,000 pairs of cleats for children in India. This major undertaking has resulted in donations from across the country."

As the fourth of 15 weekly winners of the program, BMO will be donating $500 to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa on behalf of the Ottawa Royals Futuro U-10 boys. The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa has served the Ottawa community since 1923, reaching out to 4,500 children and youth each year through after-school, weekend and summer programs that build self-esteem and help to develop stronger social skills.

BMO Team of the Week is Canada's premier sport celebration at the grassroots level, engaging a nation and inspiring communities by recognizing youth soccer teams who demonstrate team pride, team spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. Fifteen weekly winners will be named BMO Team of the Week starting April 18, and entered for a chance to be voted by Canadians as BMO Team of the Week 2012 Champion. The grand prize includes a $125,000 refurbishment of their community soccer field, a road trip to a Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Montreal Impact FC, or Canadian National Team home game, and a $5,000 donation to the team's charity of choice.
