CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 5, 2012) - The Calgary Stampede and BMO Bank of Montreal celebrate 100 years of history together this Centennial year, with the presentation of the annual BMO Farm Family Awards. Twenty outstanding southern Alberta families will be honoured for their dedication to rural life and provincial economic growth on Monday, July 9 at Stampede Park.

Join Mike Casey, president and chairman of the board, Calgary Stampede, the Hon. Verlyn Olson, QC, MLA, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Bill Hogg, vice-president Alberta/NWT commercial district, BMO Bank of Montreal to celebrate these families and their contribution to Alberta's agriculture industry.

The Alberta Agricultural Service Board selects the BMO Farm Family Award recipients based on their contribution to the community and their own farming expertise. The awards recognize families who take an innovative approach to growing their business in the agriculture industry, and at the same time demonstrate a commitment to traditional western values.

The Calgary Stampede is a volunteer-supported, not-for-profit community organization that preserves and promotes western heritage and values.
