Ladner Storm U10 Girls Vie to be Chosen as BMO Team of the Week 2012 Champion

- Canadians invited to cast their vote at until August 27

LADNER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2012) -

The Ladner Storm U10 girls' team is in the running to be named BMO Team of the Week 2012 Champion and win the grand prize, which includes a $125,000 prize towards a field refurbishment.

The championship title also comes with a road trip to see a Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Montreal Impact or Canadian National Team home game and a $5,000 donation to the charity of their choice. Canadians can log on to to cast their vote and the team with the highest number of votes will be the BMO Team of the Week 2012 Champion.

"Rain or shine, we play, and it's an honour to know that our dedication has been recognized," said Head Coach Robb Semler. "In addition, the opportunity to win a prize for upgrades to our field is fantastic not only for this team, but also for the community. Our girls work so hard to excel at a sport they love, and at the same time, share their love of soccer by making the effort to mentor younger players; I couldn't ask for a better group of girls to coach."

The girls also have a personal connection to the BC Children's Hospital, and have therefore selected the Hospital as the recipient of the $5,000 donation from BMO if they win the Championship title.

About BMO Team of the Week

From April 2 to July 13, Canadian soccer coaches and parents were invited to nominate their favourite soccer team by logging on to

A panel of judges selected a weekly winner and each BMO Team of the Week received $500, track suits and a gift to a charity of their choice. The final weekly winner was announced July 25.

Canadians can vote for their favourite BMO Team of the Week until August 27.

The 2012 BMO Team of the Week Champion will be announced on September 5.
