BMO InvestorLine's New Technical Insight(TM) Tool Offers Detailed Analysis of Market and Security Activity

- Intuitive tool provides compelling and actionable research for clients to make more informed trading decisions

- BMO InvestorLine partners with industry leader Recognia(R) to offer technical analysis capabilities

- Introduction of Technical Insight follows recent launch of adviceDirect(TM), Canada's first online personalized service providing investing advice to online investors

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 11, 2012) - BMO InvestorLine has announced the introduction of Technical Insight, an intuitive new tool designed to help self-directed clients identify, research and analyze new investing opportunities.

"We have found that investors who take the time to conduct a technical analysis of their potential investments are able to minimize the emotional aspect of trading and are less tempted to make changes based on short-term fluctuations in the market," said Cesar Rainusso, Vice-President, BMO InvestorLine. "With Technical Insight, clients receive unbiased and detailed technical analysis of market and security activity. Not only does it help them become more informed, but they can also plan better entry and exit strategies for their equity investments."

Provided by Recognia - an industry leader in actionable investment research - Technical Insight uses the power of technical analysis to provide clients with the following:

  • Access to a variety of unbiased trade theories based on emerging Technical Event® opportunities;
  • Investment outlooks for thousands of equities by simply entering the ticker symbol;
  • Meaningful explanations and interpretations of events as they happen through guided educational material; and,
  • Easy monitoring of equities through email notifications, alerting users each time a significant event occurs.

Using more than 60 classic chart patterns, indicators and oscillators, Technical Insight uses best-in-class practices of technical analysis to evaluate securities by examining the statistics generated by market activity, such as past prices and volume. It also studies charts of historical price movements and trading volumes to predict future performance on particular equities.

"We are excited to be partnering with BMO," said Rick Escher, CEO, Recognia Inc. "With this new service, BMO InvestorLine clients gain compelling and actionable research so they can make more informed trading decisions."

Technical Insight, available to clients through BMO InvestorLine's award-winning self-directed service, builds on BMO InvestorLine's commitment to offer investors innovative tools and resources to grow their investments. Earlier this month, BMO InvestorLine launched adviceDirect™, Canada's first online personalized investing service. For details visit www.bmo.com/advicedirect.
