BMO Financial Group Donates $100,000 to Headwaters Health Care Foundation Commitment to Care Campaign

ORANGEVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 22, 2013) - Headwaters Health Care Foundation is pleased to announce that BMO Financial Group is supporting local health care through a leadership gift of $100,000 to the Commitment to Care Campaign, which will help expand patient programs and services.

"As Canada's oldest bank, BMO has played an important role in the development of our country and, I'm pleased to say, BMO is today playing an important role in the further development of health care services for everyone in our community," said Bob Burnside, Chair, Commitment to Care Campaign. "BMO's multi-year pledge to Headwaters Health Care Foundation will help expand patient programs and services, bring leading edge technology into the hospital, and help more people in Dufferin-Caledon receive the care they need close to home."

The five-year, $14 million Commitment to Care Campaign supports three distinct areas of growth at Headwaters Health Care Centre:

  • $3.5 million expansion to outpatient facilities in the Ambulatory Care Unit, allowing for additional procedure rooms, expanded outpatient clinics such as chemotherapy, orthopedics and dialysis, and a fourth operating room to increase surgical capacity;

  • $3 million for the purchase of specialized pieces of state-of-the-art medical equipment costing $100,000 or more;

  • $7.5 million for new and upgraded equipment throughout the hospital, over the next five years.

"BMO recognizes the importance of health and wellness to communities," said Mike Bonner, Vice President, Commercial Banking, Greater Toronto District, BMO Bank of Montreal. "Along with Commercial Account Manager Tracy Cooper, I am delighted about BMO's support for the Commitment to Care Campaign and the vital services it will provide for the community.

"Our company and employees are committed to improving the communities in which we live and work, and this donation allows us to make a significant contribution to healthcare in the area."
