The Monteuil Sparta U10 girls' team of Laval, Quebec, has been declared this week's BMO Team of the Week. They are now the second team in the running to be named 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion and win the grand prize, which includes $125,000 to upgrade their community soccer pitch.

Since being named a BMO Team of the Week Finalist in 2012, the Sparta girls have been actively rallying the community. Over the past year, the team has raised more than $2500 to support Le Club des petits déjeuners du Québec, a program that works to provide kids with a proper breakfast and a good learning environment. This year's donation will also support the charity.

"The entire team is delighted to once again be named a finalist," said Sabatino Andreoni, Coach of the Monteuil Sparta. "I've never seen such passion and respect for the game at such a young age. Sparta knows that respecting the game means respecting everyone participating in it. Regardless of the outcome of a game, our players will always be first to shake hands with other players, coaches and officials on the field. Thank you to the community and to BMO for this incredible honour for a second year in a row."

BMO Team of the Week is BMO's national grassroots soccer program, which recognizes youth soccer teams (age 7-12) across Canada for team pride, spirit, community commitment, respect and passion for the game. Thirteen more teams will be selected as BMO Team of the Week winners over the course of the next several weeks. The weekly winners will then vie for the title of 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion. The Champion will be determined by the Canadian public, who can vote online daily at BMOsoccer.com from Aug. 5-19 for the team they feel are most deserving of the award.

The team will also receive a $500 team prize, a $500 donation to the charity of the team's choice, BMO Team of the Week tracksuits plus a community celebration at a local BMO branch.

"It's a first for BMO to have a repeat winner," said François Hudon, Senior Vice-President, Quebec Division & Co-Head, North American Specialized Sales. "The team spirit and pride these girls have for the game and their commitment to their community makes it easy to see why the judges nominated them two years in a row."
