CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - May 21, 2013) - BMO Bank of Montreal invites members of the media to the BMO branch on Crowfoot Way NW on Tuesday, May 21st, to meet the Blizzard Bayern and celebrate the team's selection as a BMO Team of the Week. BMO will present a $500 cheque to the team and announce a $500 donation to be made to a charity of the team's choice.
The BMO Team of the Week program recognizes 15 teams that demonstrate team pride, spirit, community involvement and passion for the game. In August, Canadians across the country will be asked to vote online to select one of the 15 weekly winners as the 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion. As a finalist, Blizzard Bayern is now in the running to win a $125,000 prize towards a field refurbishment, which could be a great asset for the soccer community in Calgary.

BMO Team of the Week is Canada's premier sport celebration at the grassroots level, engaging a nation and inspiring communities by recognizing youth soccer teams who demonstrate team pride, team spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. Fifteen weekly winners will be named BMO Team of the Week starting April 17, and entered for a chance to be voted by Canadians as BMO Team of the Week 2013 Champion. The grand prize includes a $125,000 refurbishment of their community soccer field and a road trip to a Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Montreal Impact FC, or Canadian National Team home game. Former BMO Team of the Week Champions include Glen Shields Sun Devils 2000 (2011) and Ladner Storm (2012).
