BMO today announced that the Cambridge United U11 girls have been named BMO Team of the Week. The win for the Cambridge team comes with a $500 team prize, $500 donation to a charity of the team's choice, BMO Team of the Week tracksuits, and a community celebration in the team's honour at a local BMO branch.

Recognized for their work on and off the field, Cambridge United U11 girls are the 6th team to be named BMO Team of the Week in 2013. A total of 15 weekly winners across Canada will be named over the course of the summer as part of BMO's national grassroots soccer program.

"I'm so proud of this unbelievably spirited, inspiring and passionate group of girls," said Angela Harvey, Coach of the Cambridge United U11 girls. "They wear their Cambridge United colours with passion and pride. Our team motto 'I believe' has become symbolic this year of what the girls can do not only as individual players, but as a united team. By adapting this 'I believe' motto, there is nothing that this team cannot do!

"The girls share their passion and determination off the field, where they have conducted food drives, an Earth Day initiative, and a penny drive to raise funds for Kids Can Play. These are just a few of the ways in which Cambridge United has given back to the community. Being a BMO Team of the Week is an absolute honour. I encourage everyone in and around Cambridge to rally behind us with their voices in August so that we can bring an incredible prize back to Cambridge!" concluded Ms. Harvey.

BMO Team of the Week recognizes youth soccer teams (age 7-12) across Canada that demonstrate team pride, spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. Fifteen teams will be selected as BMO Team of the Week. Each of the weekly winners will then vie for the title of 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion. The Champion will be determined by the Canadian public who can vote online daily at BMOsoccer.com from August 5-19 for the team they feel is most deserving of the award.

"Cambridge United's community work and dedication to each other are what really makes this group of young girls stand out," said Janet Peddigrew, Vice-President, Mid-Western Ontario, BMO Bank of Montreal. "They embody what it means to be a team by believing in each other and supporting the community which they all call home. This group is truly inspiring, which is why I am honoured to recognize the Cambridge United U11 girls as BMO Team of the Week."
