    Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Coastal FC Thunder Celebrate Being Named BMO Team of the Week

    - Win brings team one step closer to the grand prize, which includes $125,000 towards the refurbishment of a soccer field in White Rock

    WHITE ROCK, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 28, 2013) - BMO invites members of the media and the community of White Rock, British Columbia to the BMO Bank of Montreal Semiahmoo branch on Thursday, May 30th to celebrate the Coastal FC Thunder U11 girls' selection as BMO Team of the Week.

    The recognition gives the team a chance to vie for the title of 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion and win $125,000 from BMO to be used for a soccer field refurbishment in White Rock.

    The 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion will be chosen by the Canadian public, who will vote between August 5-19 online at BMOsoccer.com to decide which team they feel most exemplified the spirit of the award by exhibiting team pride, team spirit, community commitment and passion for the game.

    At the celebration on Thursday, BMO will award Coastal FC Thunder with BMO Team of the Week tracksuits and a $500 prize. The celebration will also include the presentation of a $500 donation to Because I am a Girl, the team's chosen charity. The community celebration will also serve as a rallying point for fans, residents, family and friends to vote for the Thunder.

    The girls have shown outstanding team spirit, community commitment, and passion for the game to become a BMO Team of the Week winner. "From the first team cheer to the final handshake, Thunder plays each game with true athleticism regardless of the outcome," said Geoff Killam, Coach, Coastal FC Thunder. "Thank you to my fellow coaches, family members and the community for their continued support and encouragement. We are proud to be named BMO Team of the Week."

    Coastal FC Thunder were selected as one of 15 weekly winners in the BMO Team of the Week program. The 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion will claim the grand prize of $125,000 towards team facility refurbishments, a trip to see an MLS or Canadian National team home match of their choice, and an additional $5,000 for the charity of its choice.

    BMO Team of the Week is Canada's premier sport celebration at the grassroots level, engaging a nation and inspiring communities by recognizing youth soccer teams who demonstrate team pride, team spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. Fifteen weekly winners will be named BMO Team of the Week starting April 17, and entered for a chance to be voted by Canadians as BMO Team of the Week 2013 Champion.
