BMO today announced that the Harbour City FC U8 Boys Team France from Nanaimo, British Columbia, have been named BMO Team of the Week. The title comes with a $500 team prize, a $500 donation to a charity of the team's choice, BMO Team of the Week tracksuits for the team and coaching staff and a community celebration in the team's honour at a local BMO branch.

Recognized for their work on and off the field, this extraordinary group of boys are the eighth team to be named BMO Team of the Week in 2013. A total of 15 weekly winners across Canada will be named over the course of the summer as part of BMO's national grassroots soccer program.

"These boys are as committed to fostering team spirit as they are to learning the game," said Jazz Sohal, Head Coach of Harbour City FC Team France. "The energy, passion, and understanding for one another and the way they play the game, is simply brilliant. This team has also learned what it means to give back to the community, recently going door-to-door to raise money for Kids Help Phone. I could not be more proud of these young superstars and I'm so happy to call them the BMO Team of the Week!"

BMO Team of the Week recognizes youth soccer teams (age 7-12) across Canada that demonstrate team pride, spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. Fifteen teams will be selected as BMO Team of the Week. Each of the weekly winners will then vie for the title of 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion. The Champion will be determined by the Canadian public through online daily voting at BMOsoccer.com from August 5-19 for the team they feel is most deserving of the award.

"The Harbour City FC U8 Boys Team France have shown dedication and passion which extends beyond the field, to the community at large," said Joanne Gassman, Senior Vice President, British Columbia and Yukon Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. "The boys' tenacity and good spirit is reflected in their contributions to a stronger community off the field and I am proud to recognize them as BMO Team of the Week. I commend the team and coaching staff for this incredible recognition and wish them luck as they rally their community and vie to be the 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion."
