- BMO branch represents a $1.5 million investment in the community

- Offering customers extended banking hours, including weekends

- 'Making Money Make Sense' in four different languages

ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - June 17, 2013) - BMO Bank of Montreal today announced the opening of its relocated full-service banking branch in Abbotsford, at 3122 Mt. Lehman Rd. & Hwy #1 in the fast-growing Fraser Valley. The branch was previously located at 32112 South Fraser Way.

"BMO is the first financial institution to open in the new Highstreet retail development, which provides ample parking and easy access," said Kathy Purcha, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal. "The new branch location is set to attract a high volume of customer traffic, as Highstreet boasts numerous shopping, dining and entertainment amenities which serve the community's growing population of young families and professionals."

The Highstreet branch offers customers extended banking hours and is designed to provide a great banking experience through a variety of financial services and conveniences, including:

  • Services provided in four different languages;
  • Access to commercial account and deposit services - including a 24 hour depository for small business after-hours use;
  • Two ATMs; and
  • Barrier-free access.

The Fraser Valley's rich soils and supportive climate have helped nurture a vibrant and diversified agricultural industry, which provides the foundation for many employment and business opportunities in the region. Together with other regional positives, this has made the Fraser Valley and communities like Abbotsford an attractive destination to outsiders and has resulted in brisk population growth over the past decade - notably ahead of both British Columbia and Canada more broadly.

"With over 130 years of combined agricultural experience, BMO's Agri-banking experts understand the cycles and the challenges that producers in the Fraser Valley's agricultural industry face and can provide commercial account, lending and deposit solutions," said Lana Dueck, Director of Agricultural Banking, BMO Bank of Montreal.

In celebration of the branch opening, customers who open a new BMO Kids Discounted Banking Plan and deposit $25 before July 31, 2013 will receive another $25 from BMO to help kick-start their child's savings. For more information, please visit the branch.

The new branch's extended hours of operation are:

  • 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Wednesday;
  • 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday;
  • 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday; and
  • 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
