Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Aurora Stingers U9 Girls Celebrate BMO Team of the Week Win
AURORA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 10, 2013) - On Friday, July 12, Aurora Stingers U9 girls will celebrate with their community after being named this year's eleventh BMO Team of the Week for 2013. The award puts them in the running to be named the BMO Team of the Week 2013 Champion, a title that comes with $125,000 towards a local field refurbishment - the largest grand prize of its kind in Canada.
To honour the win, BMO will hold a celebration for the Stingers at a local BMO Branch and present them with a $500 cash prize and BMO Team of the Week tracksuits. BMO will also donate $500 to the team's chosen charity, the Aurora Food Pantry - a local organization providing food to individuals in need. The team has graciously decided to donate their $500 cash prize to the Swedlo family who the girls have proudly supported during their son's illness.
"This astonishing young team defines the essence of determination, perseverance, love, friendship and teamwork that goes far beyond the game they love to play, said George Georgeiopoulos, Head Coach of the Aurora Stingers U9 Girls. "This is a truly inspirational group of girls who have a tremendous amount of pride in their team and in their community."
