Sunnybrook Celebrates $1-Million Donation to Trauma Program by BMO Financial Group

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 11, 2013) - The Sunnybrook Foundation today held a special celebration in recognition of a $1-million gift to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre from BMO Financial Group.

BMO has championed support for several of Sunnybrook's priority programs, including the expansion and renovation of the emergency department and the construction of a rooftop helipad.

"By supporting our world-class emergency facility and the new helipad, BMO has given experts at Sunnybrook the space they need to save lives that could not otherwise be saved," says Dr. Jon Dellandrea, President and CEO of Sunnybrook Foundation. "Simply put, Sunnybrook would not have the state-of-the-art emergency facility it has today without BMO's generous support."

BMO has a long-standing tradition of generosity, beginning with its first health-care donation in 1835. BMO's gift of $1 million toward Sunnybrook's Trauma, Emergency & Critical Care Program highlights its steadfast commitment to giving back and improving quality of life in the communities where its employees live and work.

"Our friends at Sunnybrook tell us that our support helps them save lives that could not otherwise be saved," said Lily Capriotti, District Vice President, GTA North, BMO Financial Group. "I can't tell you how proud we all are at BMO to hear those words. If we can help this already-superb hospital do even just a little more for people who need emergency medical care, then we will have honoured our responsibilities."
