CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 25, 2013) - BMO Bank of Montreal today announced it would be participating in the Alberta Government's recovery programs for businesses impacted by the June 2013 floods.
"Every Albertan wants to support businesses affected by the flood, so they can rebuild and contribute their skills and expertise to the economy once again," said Robert Hayes, Senior Vice President, Alberta and NWT Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. "BMO is pleased to support these new programs announced by Finance Minister Doug Horner, which provide affected businesses with the support they need to get back on their feet.
"Earlier this week, BMO announced we are making up to an additional $1 billion available to businesses in Alberta to help them rebuild from the flooding," stated Mr. Hayes. "This new money will provide small and medium-sized businesses with increased access to available credit. It represents BMO's ongoing confidence in them, and it's a shot in the arm to help ensure Alberta fully realizes its growth potential of more than three per cent in 2014."
BMO also recently announced a relief program to assist customers affected by the flooding in Calgary and other locations throughout southern Alberta. In addition, BMO has donated $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts in the region.
Moreover, BMO Bank of Montreal branches across Canada are accepting donations to the Canadian Red Cross to support relief efforts for those affected by the flooding. Alternatively, donations can be made direct at 1-800-418-1111 or WeCare@redcross.ca.
