BMO Capital Markets to Host 9th Annual Equity Through Education Trading Day

- BMO will donate one day's worth of institutional equity trading commissions to eight North American Charities

- More than $12.3 million has been raised through the program since 2005

TORONTO, ONTARIO and NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(Marketwired - Sept. 23, 2013) - BMO Capital Markets, the investment & corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (TSX:BMO)(NYSE:BMO), will once again be hosting its Equity Through Education trading day on September 25, 2013.

For the ninth consecutive year, BMO Capital Markets will donate the institutional equity trading commissions earned in the U.S. and Canada on that day to eight charitable organizations that work to improve access to education for less advantaged youth through scholarships, bursaries and other programs.

"BMO's Equity Through Education program ensures that scholarships and bursaries go to young, promising individuals," said Eric Tripp, President, BMO Capital Markets. "The program's focus on diversity is important to us as we strive to ensure that BMO's workforce is representative of the society in which we work and live."

The program is supported by BMO employees and clients and has raised more than $12.3 (CAD) million (U.S. $11.7 million) since it was established in 2005, assisting more than 2,500 individuals.

This year, the proceeds from the BMO Capital Markets Equity Through Education trading day will go to the following North American charities:

- Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation

- The Financial Women's Association

- The Jackie Robinson Foundation

- Foundation for the Advancement of Aboriginal Youth

- Indspire

- Lime Connect

- Pathways to Education Canada

- Women in Capital Markets
