TORONTO, ONTARIO and NEW YORK, NEW YORK--(Marketwired - Sept. 27, 2013) - BMO Capital Markets, the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE:BMO)(TSX:BMO), announced today it will donate $1.1 million to eight charities across North America from the firm's Equity Through Education charitable program.

The donation marks the ninth consecutive year that BMO Capital Markets has donated institutional equity trading commissions, earned on its Equity Through Education Day in the U.S. and Canada, to charities whose goal it is to provide
greater access to education for less advantaged youth through scholarships, bursaries and other programs.

Since it was launched eight years ago, Equity Through Education has raised $13.4 million and has assisted more than 2,500 individuals.

This year, the proceeds from the BMO Capital Markets Equity Through Education trading day will go to the following North American charities:

• The Financial Women's Association

• The Jackie Robinson Foundation

• Foundation for the Advancement of Aboriginal Youth

• Indspire

• Lime Connect

• Pathways to Education Canada
