OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 17, 2013) - At an event in Ottawa today, BMO Bank of Montreal President and CEO Frank Techar joined Canada's Chief of the Defence Staff, General T.J. Lawson, to celebrate BMO's role as the Official Bank of the Canadian Defence Community.

BMO Bank of Montreal works in partnership with Canadian Defence Community Banking (CDCB) to offer products and services specifically designed to meet the needs of military members, families and veterans. The program saves members of the Defence Community approximately $1 million in banking fees every year.

The event in Ottawa, organized by BMO, featured a presentation by financial author and expert David Chilton, who gave advice and suggestions geared towards the particular needs of members of the Canadian Forces and their families.
