TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 3, 2014) - BMO Financial Group today announced that it is donating $20,000 to help people in need who lost perishable food supplies during the power outage caused by the recent ice storm in Toronto region. The donation will be used to supplement the gift card program recently put in place by the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto.
"The effects of the ice storm continue to be felt," said Andy Plews, BMO's Senior Vice-President, Corporate Communications, Government & Community Affairs, "and this is one way that we can help out." He noted that the food banks in the region continue to need help as well and called on Toronto residents to continue to give generously to help their neighbours who need assistance.
