TORONTO, ONTARIO and CHICAGO, ILLINOIS--(Marketwired - Jan. 30, 2015) - The 2014 BMO Employee Giving Campaign set new records for both donations and participation, with BMO and more than 42,000 of its employees raising more than C$26 million for local United Ways and other charities across North America. Further, BMO employees volunteered at hundreds of charities in communities across Canada and the U.S.

"Fairness, equity and evening the odds have long inspired us, but the generosity of the people who work at BMO continues to exceed all expectations," said Bill Downe, Chief Executive Officer, BMO Financial Group. "It is a privilege to be a part of an organization where people show this level of commitment.

"While our brand seems like a promise made strictly to our customers, it is really a promise to all stakeholders," continued Mr. Downe. "It makes clear exactly how we expect them to measure our performance. The BMO Employee Giving Campaign embodies that commitment - in fact, it's right at the heart of it and has everything to do with who we are.

"We are here to help - and during our campaign, we do so in a very concrete way," concluded Mr. Downe.

For nearly 200 years, BMO Financial Group has followed a principle of corporate and social responsibility and of reinvesting in the communities it serves. In 2014, BMO contributed more than C$57 million in community donations to charitable, not-for-profit and community-based institutions and organizations that help build and sustain resilient, vital and healthy communities.
