BMO Donates $100,000 to Support Red Cross Efforts in Fort McMurray and Announces Financial Relief Program
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 4, 2016) - BMO Financial Group today announced a financial relief program to assist customers affected by the wildfire in Fort McMurray. In addition, BMO is donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to provide support in the region.
"Many residents and businesses in Fort McMurray are facing losses and we hope our relief program for customers and our donation to the Canadian Red Cross will help alleviate some of the difficulties," said Susan Brown, Senior Vice President, Alberta and North West Territories Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. The relief program for BMO customers includes:
- Various options on deferral of personal loan payments and personal mortgage loan principal and interest payments
- Special accommodations for BMO Bank of Montreal commercial customers affected by the fire, which are being developed on a case-by-case basis
BMO Bank of Montreal customers are invited to contact or visit the nearest local branch, or call the customer contact centre 1-877-225-5266 for further assistance.
Customers across Canada can also make a donation to the Canadian Red Cross at their local branch, effective May 5.
