TORONTO, May 8, 2018 /CNW/ - BMO Asset Management Inc. (BMO AM) today launched a Canadian industry-first ETF that offers an investing strategy capitalizing on technology innovation and new media trends in the communications services sector.
BMO Global Communications Index ETF (Ticker: COMM) gives investors access to leading companies in the communications equipment, gaming software, media and publishing services, telecommunications and web-based data sectors.
Some of the holdings in the fund include Apple Inc., Netflix Inc., Facebook Inc., Alphabet Inc. (Google), The Walt Disney Company and Time Warner Inc.
"This ETF provides investors with a unique balance of global companies that are reshaping and driving the market through communications, technology and new media," said Kevin Gopaul, Head of BMO Global Asset Management Canada.
The offering of the new ETF is closed; the fund will begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange today.
With this announcement, BMO AM's ETF business now has 74 ETF strategies in Canada and has nearly 32 per cent share of the market, according to Bloomberg data.
