BMO Earns Eighth Consecutive Gold Certification from Canadian Council for Indigenous Business' PAIR Program

TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2026 /CNW/ -- BMO today announced that, for the eighth consecutive term, it has achieved Gold-level certification through the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business' (CCIB) Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program, an unprecedented milestone for financial institutions that reflects the bank's ongoing commitment to advancing reconciliation and strengthening relationships with Indigenous Peoples, communities and businesses across Canada.

Administered by the CCIB, PAIR is Canada's leading corporate certification program for Indigenous relations. Organizations are evaluated across key areas including leadership, employment, business development and community relationships. Gold certification recognizes a demonstrated and sustained commitment to Indigenous inclusion and partnership.

At BMO, this work is guided by a belief that advancing reconciliation requires listening, learning and acting with purpose. Across the bank, colleagues are working to create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous clients, employees, entrepreneurs and communities through initiatives focused on financial progress, economic empowerment, education and relationship building.

BMO's Indigenous Advisory Council, made up of Indigenous representatives from across Canada, plays an important role in helping shape and guide this work. Their perspectives help ensure that the bank's efforts remain grounded in community needs, informed by lived experiences and focused on creating long-term impact.

"This recognition belongs to the many colleagues, partners and Indigenous community leaders who continue to move this work forward," said Mike Bonner, Head, Canadian Personal & Business Banking Distribution and Co-Chair of BMO's Indigenous Advisory Council. "Meaningful progress is built through listening, trust and sustained action. We are proud of this milestone, but we know the work continues."

Eight consecutive years of PAIR Gold re-certification reflects a long-standing commitment, but it is also a reminder that reconciliation is ongoing. BMO remains focused on strengthening relationships, creating opportunities and working alongside Indigenous communities to support shared success for generations to come.
